Events & Festivals

In cities and towns across Arkansas’ Western Mountain Frontier, there are festivals and annual events celebrating seasons, crafts, wine, miners, motorcycles and more. People of all ages and interests can find something to their liking. Be sure to check out upcoming events for more events throughout the region!

Fort Smith hosts Old Fort Days Rodeo in late May as well as the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair from late-September through early-October.

In Waldron, the Turkey Track Bluegrass Festivals celebrate bluegrass and gospel music in mid-June and mid-October.

The annual Altus Grape Festival in late July features grape-stomping competitions and free tastings.

Mountain Fest is an arts and crafts festival held near Mena in mid-September.

Old Timer’s Day Steampunk Festival brings together arts, crafts and live entertainment on Historic Main Street in Van Buren every May.

And you can rev up your engine at the Steel Horse Rally, featuring a parade through downtown Fort Smith and motorcycle rides across the Frontier in early May.
