Join the Fort Smith Museum of History for an exhibit and a program on local and regional motorcycle history. The Motorcycle Memories exhibition will be featured in the Boyd Gallery, April 17-June 2, 2018.
As part of the City of Fort Smith Bicentennial Celebration, the Fort Smith Museum of History will offer “Communities and Cultures in Fort Smith: Exploring Identities of the Region," a monthly speaker series addressing the communities and cultures that have influenced and shaped the region and the city as we know it today. The May 31, 6:00 p.m. program features Selina Rosen, a Torah scholar and member of the United Hebrew Congregation in Fort Smith for over thirty years. Ms. Rosen is a member of the temple board, leads services on a regular basis and teaches children's Hebrew school. She has studied with dozens of different rabbis and is also a professional writer with thirty published novels and dozens of short fiction sales.
The Fort Smith Museum of History will host a reunion for current and former Dandies and rodeo queens. Meet the lovely ladies who have contributed their talent to the success of the Old Fort Days Rodeo in Fort Smith and enjoy a light lunch.
On Saturday, June 2, join a variety of re-enactors for a "Downtown Stroll" at 11:00 a.m. and a "Scavenger Hunt" for children at 12:00 noon. Meet historical Fort Smith characters and learn little known facts of Fort Smith history as well as meeting well-known legends from the city's rich and colorful past.
